SCRA-W Listserv: Connecting Community Psychologists

The Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA), also known as Division 27 of the American Psychological Association, stands as the world’s largest membership society dedicated to community psychology. The SCRA-W listserv serves as the official email discussion list for the Women’s Committee of the Society for Community Research & Action.

Purpose of the SCRA-W Listserv

The primary goal of the SCRA-W listserv is to facilitate communication and discussion around issues related to community psychology, particularly as they intersect with women’s issues. It provides a platform for members to share resources, announce events, and engage in conversations relevant to the field.

How to Subscribe

To subscribe to the SCRA-W listserv, follow these instructions:

1. Send an email to [email protected] from the email account you wish to use for the listserv.
2. In the body of the email, include the following command: SUBSCRIBE SCRA-W yourfirstname yourlastname
   • Replace yourfirstname with your first name and yourlastname with your last name.

How to Post Messages

Once subscribed, you can post messages to the list by sending an email to [email protected] from the email account you used to subscribe.

How to Unsubscribe

To unsubscribe from the SCRA-W listserv, follow these steps:

1. Send an email to [email protected] from the email account you used to subscribe.
2. In the body of the email, include the following command: SIGNOFF SCRA-W yourfirstname yourlastname

Important Note About List Addresses

It is crucial to understand the difference between the list address ([email protected]) and the LISTSERV address ([email protected]).

• List Address ([email protected]): This address is for posting messages to the entire list. Do not send subscription or unsubscription commands to this address.
• LISTSERV Address ([email protected]): This address is for sending commands such as subscribe and signoff. All commands must be sent to this address.

Sending commands to the list address will result in your command being distributed to all subscribers, which is not the intended behavior.
